Remember, trademarks are used as source-identifiers, so your logo needs to be used in a way that identifies the source of the clothing.
The best way to do that is to have a tag attached to your clothing with your trademark on it.
Another good way is a small logo maybe on the chest or lapel.
You can also use the tag at the back of your shirt.
If you have a very large design on the front of your shirt, you will most likely get an ornamentation or failure to function office action. You'll want to avoid submitting a specimen as a very large print on the front of it unless you also have a tag attached to it. When you submit a photo of a specimen of clothing, you'll want to make sure you don't digitally alter it at all. The below is an example of a bad specimen!
There may be times that you would want to push back on an Examiner asking you to make a disclaimer, so be sure to talk to your trademark attorney about that.
