My office contains a lot of nerdy trademark items! Check it out!
In my office, you'll find the Bad Spaniels dog toy that's part of the case decided by the Supreme Court in June.
When I got sworn into the U.S. Supreme Court I ended up sitting next to the press box and I happened to see Art Lien doing his sketch art. And I looked online and sure enough, I am in an Art Lien Supreme Court sketch. Which I think is pretty cool. It's a big honor.
So the centerpiece of my office is this trademark registration for the Jordan 4 which is my shoe of choice. Which I wear all the time. So this is the centerpiece if you see me on Zoom, right behind me.
Of course, everybody wants they want that circle-R trademark registration. And so that's also front and center there.
I'm a big fan of the Crumbl cookies. We've talked about the trade dress that has the four big cookies in it, and a design on the back. Also subject to litigation right now in Utah.
When we were on a trip to Florida, I'd never ever heard of Buc-ee's but they have a ton of really cool trademarks including the Buc-ee's symbol. And "brisket on the board" in a singsong voice is actually a registered trademark that Buc-ee's owns.
My favorite registered trademark of all time is a scent. Hasbro owns a trademark for the scent of Play-Doh, which I think is one of the coolest scents out there.
I'm a big Columbus Crew fan and my office has the Columbus Crew logos: the coolest, most original logo in sports history; the circle logo which was the best logo in soccer history; and and the current worst logo in soccer history.
The Coca-Cola bottle is one of the most interesting shapes of registered trademarks. You can kind of see the evolution of the bottle here from 1899 to 1957.
My office also has the evolution of the Coca-Cola bottle from 1899 to 1957, as well as some GM Chevy trademarks as kind of an homage to my dad who retired from GM in 2020. He was a machine repairman.
So even though Marvel movies are better, if I have to pick *a* comic the Flash is by far my favorite comic. I read the actual strip from DC Comics.
I'm not much of a gamer but I'm a huge fan of the Legend of Zelda games. This here is a plaque about the Breath of the Wild. And just the other day Tears of the Kingdom came out, and I have a few amiibos, the Master Sword, and other Legend of Zelda items in my office.
Faith plays a big role in the way I conduct business. So I really, really like the lighthouse theme. Sometimes law is dark, and I can help shine light on how to proceed and provide personalized service to help you navigate the trademark filing process. My office also has an operating LEGO lighthouse.
I haven't watched the Ninja Turtles in forever, but purple is a big part of my branding, and Donatello is the one who is calm, cool, collected. He's more cerebral. He likes technology, so I think that he kind of fits my personality.
I hope you enjoyed the tour! If there is anything else you’d like information about, or something you think I should add, let me know!
